Reciprocity
Registrant Information > ReciprocityThe Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission is a signatory to the Real Estate Authorization Recognition Agreement that recognizes occupational qualifications of industry members authorized (licensed/registered) in other jurisdictions. Additional jurisdictions that are currently a signatory to the agreement include Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia. Please check with your real estate regulatory organization to determine if your jurisdiction is a signatory since the last update of our website. The affect of the agreement is that industry members authorized in a jurisdiction that meet the common education standards must successfully complete a qualifying course to satisfy the educational requirements for registration in Saskatchewan. Those industry members that have three or more years experience in a jurisdiction that do not meet the common education standards must also successfully complete the qualifying course Real Estate Practice in Saskatchewan, to satisfy the educational requirements for registration. Industry members who have less than three years experience from a jurisdiction that do not meet the common education standards will be required to complete the full education program and examinations. For reciprocity purposes, the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission requires written correspondence from the real estate regulatory organization where the industry member was previously/currently authorized outlining the education, registration and sanction history for that individual seeking registration in Saskatchewan. If a person was previously registered to trade in real estate in another jurisdiction, he/she must be eligible for registration in that jurisdiction at the time of application to qualify for reciprocity in Saskatchewan and a statement to this affect is required from the regulatory organization. Please note that if you qualify for reciprocity, the requirement for registration as either broker, branch manager or salesperson is successful completion of the Real Estate Practice in Saskatchewancourse.
